WHO estimates that a country requires blood units equivalent to 1% of its population. India has the world's largest blood shortage - with all states together, we are battling a huge shortfall of 41 million units, the demand outstripping supply by over 400%⁽¹⁾.

With the recent limitations of movement due to the pandemic, blood banks in the country are facing even tougher times. It has been reported ⁽²⁾ that despite the massive burden of trauma and surgeries in the current situation, several hospitals in almost all states and union territories have been struggling to meet the daily requirements of blood. This disruption has impacted availability of blood for emergency surgeries, postpartum haemorrhage cases (bleeding after delivery), thalassemia, sickle-cell disease, and cancer patients. ...

It has been our dream at Suburban to create a platform where we can help people during their times of need. The result of our efforts is THE RED CAUSE.

THE RED CAUSE is a social initiative by Suburban Diagnostics. This open to all digital platform is easy to access and raise a blood, platelet or plasma requests on. The request is then shared digitally amongst a database of volunteered donors with an objective of finding a viable donor. The aim is to bridge the gap between demand and supply, especially in an emergency.

The timely availability of safe and quality blood is often a decisive factor in saving a human life. The gift of blood is the gift of life as there is no substitute for human blood. THE RED CAUSE is designed to save lives.

Your request details will be shared to the viable donors on the THE RED CAUSE platform. On acceptance of the donor his/her details will also be shared with you.

You will recieve details of 1 or more donors that will accept your request. Please connect with them on the contact details shared to recieve the requested donation.
